In a world facing complex challenges, the engagement of young people is more crucial than ever. At NCI, we are convinced that every young person has the potential to become an agent of change. That's why we created the Citizen and Solidarity Engagement Program (PECS), an initiative designed to equip, inspire, and mobilize the next generation of leaders.
What is PECS?
PECS is much more than a simple program; it's a transformational journey. It offers a structured framework where young people aged 16 to 30 can explore crucial themes such as human rights, the environment, social entrepreneurship, and education. The goal is twofold: to strengthen their civic awareness and to give them the tools to take concrete action for a more just and sustainable world.
The Pillars of Our Approach
Our program is based on an active and participatory pedagogy, structured around four key stages:
- ECSI Workshops: Dynamic training sessions to educate on citizenship and international solidarity, deconstructing stereotypes and encouraging critical thinking.
- Animations: Interventions in the field, particularly in schools, to practice the skills acquired and raise awareness among a wider audience.
- Fairs and Exhibitions: Key moments for meeting and sharing, where participants can present their projects and discover other inspiring initiatives.
- Solidarity Camps: A complete immersion that combines travel, networking, and action on the ground for an unforgettable experience.
Beyond Skills, Values
Participating in our youth civic engagement program means acquiring valuable skills for the future: public speaking, project management, group facilitation, and much more. But above all, it is a human adventure. Participants develop their empathy, open-mindedness, and their ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds. They learn to become citizens of the world, aware of global issues and ready to act locally.
"PECS opened my eyes to my own potential to make a difference. I left not only with skills but also with a new confidence in my ability to create a positive impact."– A former participant
