Recap: The "Call for International Solidarity" Event in Benin

Last January, the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin buzzed with the rhythm of engagement and sharing during our flagship event: "Call for International Solidarity." It was a foundational moment for NCI, bringing together students, young professionals, and community actors around a common belief: volunteering is a powerful opportunity for discovery and learning.

A Crossroads for Exchange and Learning

Centered on the theme "Volunteering, an opportunity for discovery and learning," this event was designed to demystify international mobility. Far from institutional speeches, it was former volunteers who took the stage, authentically sharing their journeys, challenges, and the invaluable skills gained in the field. Their testimonies made mobility programs more concrete and accessible for the many young people present.

Committed Partners for a Common Cause

The success of this event would not have been possible without the support of our valuable partners. We extend our warmest thanks to the NGO JEUNES-Bénin, Elisée Cham Around Africa, and the National Federation of Students of Benin. Their collaboration was essential in mobilizing the youth and creating a rich and constructive dialogue. It is proof that joining forces is the most effective driver of social change.

The Impact: Inspiring the Next Wave of Volunteers

Beyond the information shared, the goal was to ignite a spark. The discussions generated real enthusiasm and numerous questions, showing a growing interest among Beninese youth for engagement opportunities. Several participants told us they left with a clearer vision of their projects and renewed motivation to become, in turn, actors of international solidarity.

"This experience was a true revelation for me. I learned a great deal and realized the importance of international solidarity. Motivated by these enriching exchanges, I want to get actively involved."
